Allergy tests are done to find out as to what triggers the asthma or allergic cough / cold of the patient.
It is an OPD procedure that take around a couple of hours and is done at “THE CHEST CLINIC”.
PROCEDURE : The surface of the skin on your fore arm is scratched with minute amount of a number of specific allergens like molds/ spores/pollen/dust mites/animal dander.
If the result is positive a small reaction occurs on the skin in about 30 minutes. A small bump or mild itch may appear temporarily which would mean that you are allergic to that specific allergen.
Depending on the result a list of allergens will be given to you which you must avoid so as to prevent your asthma attacks.
PRIOR appointment is mandatory. Fasting is not required.
